As part of Isle of Wight Open Studios, Clare Bowen is exhibiting her paintings of scenes from around the Isle of Wight at her studio in Gurnard. Drop by to see her landscapes in oils and acrylics and enjoy a conversation with the artist.

Clare is a landscape and seascape artist who typically paints en plein air to capture the feeling of the place. Her works celebrate space and capture the changing tides, seasons and light. Her works are fluid, often produced using a palette knife to encourage a fresh, immediate style. Whilst you will recognise lots of favourite views from around the island, her works lean towards abstraction, giving them a timeless appeal.

The studio will be open 24th – 26th and 31st August, and 1st, 7th and 8th September between 12.00 and 4.00.

Clare is running Beginners' Acrylics Workshops on Saturday 24th August and Saturday 31st August between 10.00 and 12.00.
