Don’t let your exercise slip just because you’re on holiday. In fact, you could look at it as a chance to try different ways of keeping fit.
Mind and body wellness are often one and the same and the Isle of Wight offers the perfect canvas to stretch your muscles and get those endorphins flowing.
Whether it be swimming from the super sandy beaches or cycling around the Island’s roads or trails, there is tons of fun to be had for you and the family.

Get active on the isle
You can get up close and personal with the Island shoreline with a spot of coasteering in the West Wight, try a whole host of watersports from kayaking to stand up paddleboarding at Tackt-Isle Adventures, or get up above the Island by having a paragliding lesson.
Or how about heading to the trees for an experience with Goodleaf Tree Climbing, something that will never be forgotten.
And for those with a masochistic streak, each year the Island hosts its own marathon, reputed to be one of the toughest in the UK.
If you fancy a more leisurely jog, then each Saturday morning Medina parkrun welcomes hundreds of runners to either Seaclose Park in Newport or Appley at Ryde.
The Isle of Wight is also a walker’s paradise with a 66-mile coastal path around the edge and any number of trails over the downs.
Every year the Island supports its own Mountbatten hospice with Walk the Wight (a 26-mile yomp across the Isle) and there are two Isle of Wight Walking Festivals each year with all sorts of interesting themed walks for all abilities.
And let’s not forget the sport the Island is best known for...sailing. Apart from Cowes, there are yacht clubs and marinas dotted around the Island.
And why not go for a bike ride and find out why we are called Bicycle Island. There are plenty of great rides to choose from, suiting all ages and abilities. You don't even have to bring your bike to the Island, with plenty of places available to hire bikes for the day.
