The Isle of Wight Steam Railway invite you to a family afternoon concert in association with the Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra.
The Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra, under its conductor Jonathan Butcher, is set to return to live music making to perform a summer family concert at the Island Steam Railway, Havenstreet on Saturday 31st July, beginning at 3.00pm.
This fabulous outdoor concert is not only a chance to enjoy live music making once again, but also a chance to experience the very able and brilliant Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra.
The concert will include classical favourites, including The Light Cavalry Overture, along with film and TV themes such as Harry Potter, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates and Blue Peter. There is, of course, some train-related music too including Coronation Scot and Puffing Billy. The first half will end with the family favourite Tubby the Tuba with the legendary Melvyn Hayes as narrator.
The second half will conclude with a tribute to the Last Night of the Proms, including Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia and Jerusalem.
This outdoor concert starts at 3pm - please bring your own seating. A bar and refreshments will be available.
See iwsteamrailway.co.uk/book-tickets/ for booking and also details of combined tickets with the Steam Railway too.
