Step into a world of sheriffs, outlaws and high-energy entertainment at Wild West Week, one of Blackgang Chine’s most popular seasonal events. Held over seven action-packed days during May half-term, this immersive experience transforms the theme park’s iconic Cowboy Town into a bustling frontier settlement filled with showdowns, music, dancing and fun-filled activities for all ages. 

Located at Blackgang Chine Theme Park, Wild West Week celebrates the spirit of the Old West with live shows, interactive entertainment and family-friendly experiences that are all included with your standard park admission or season pass. You can expect to be entertained from the moment Cowboy Town springs to life through daily performances running from mid-morning into the afternoon. 

Non-stop entertainment

From Saturday 23 May to Saturday 30 May, Cowboy Town becomes the heart of the park, offering a full schedule of themed activities that bring the Wild West to life. Each day, from 11 am to 3 pm, the streets of this provide live action and entertainment suitable for the whole family. 

The heart of the experience is the Live Cowboy Show, a series of thrilling performances featuring dramatic gunfights, lively storytelling and high-energy action that plays out on stage twice a day. These shows engage audiences of all ages, offering a blend of humour, excitement and the classic Western themes that everyone knows and loves. 

But the experience doesn’t stop with shows. Wild West Week introduces a variety of interactive elements designed to get visitors involved:

• Cowboy Karaoke – you’re invited to take to the stage and belt out your favourite tunes with the resident Cowboys and Cowgirls, adding a musical twist to the western fun. 
• Hoedown dance workshops – whether you’re an experienced dancer or a complete beginner, these workshops help you master classic Wild West moves and bring the spirit of a lively saloon dance to life. 
• Meet the Cowboys and Cowgirls – throughout the week, themed characters will roam Cowboy Town, interacting with you and posing for photos.

Night of music, foam and fireworks

Experience the Wild West Fest on Wednesday 27 May, a late-night spectacular that elevates the Cowboy Town experience into the evening. During this unforgettable night, Blackgang Chine stays open late to offer:

• Live DJ sets pumping out tunes to keep the party going. 
• Mega foam party in Pirate Cove, where foam cannons fire.
• Spectacular firework finale that lights up the night sky once darkness falls. 
• Late-night rides across the park, giving you the chance to enjoy the rides under the twinkling lights. 

The DJ party kicks off at 6:45 pm, with foam cannons firing around 7:30 pm, and the fireworks scheduled from 9:15 pm once darkness allows for the best possible display. 

Food and drink are available throughout the evening, ensuring you stay fuelled for fun well into the night.

During Wild West Week, you’ll find La Cantina that serves hearty meals including burgers and hot dogs, while nearby cafés and kiosks such as Chine Cafe, Captain Jacks, Chocobloc and iScream offer lighter meals, pastries, sweet treats and cooling ice creams.
