About
Andrew Dowden Ceramics & Contemporary Mixed Media Exhibition
16–21 July | 10:00am–4:30pm daily | Quarr Abbey, Ryde, Isle of Wight | Free Entry
Discover the unique work of Isle of Wight artist Andrew Dowden at this exhibition of handmade sculptural ceramics and contemporary mixed media art.
Featuring new ceramic works in porcelain and earthenware, Andrew's collection ranges from distinctive hand-crafted pen holders to striking tiled wall panels. His work explores texture, form and surface detail, with intricate hand-carving and signature hand-turned spiral knobs creating truly individual pieces. Inspiration is drawn from the marks and patterns left by nature, machinery, engineering, architecture and archaeology.
Alongside the ceramics, visitors can enjoy a vibrant display of contemporary mixed media wall art. These abstract, three-dimensional panels, painted in oils, provide a colourful contrast and complement to Andrew's ceramic creations.
Andrew will be present throughout the exhibition and welcomes the opportunity to meet visitors, discuss his creative process and share the inspiration behind his work.
Supporting a local charity, 10% of all exhibition sales will be donated to Quarr Abbey.
Visitors can also enjoy Quarr Abbey's landscaped gardens, tea rooms and tea garden, as well as the farm shop, visitor centre, free parking and on-site facilities.
