Can Literature Save Lives? On the Power of the Word
His Lordship Erik Varden OCSO is the Bishop of Trondheim. Born in Norway in 1974, he was educated at Cambridge and was elected a fellow of St John’s College in 2001. He went on to become a Cistercian monk at Mount St Bernard Abbey, near Leicester. Elected abbot in 2015, he was nominated bishop of the Prelature of Trondheim in 2019. He has published many books. His blog Coram Fratribus has a wide international readership.

His Grace Robert Le Gall OSB was born in 1946. He entered monastic life in 1963 at Kergonan in Brittany. He was abbot from 1983 to 2002 when he was nominated first bishop of Mende, then archbishop of Toulouse (2006-2021). He has written extensively on Liturgy and Spirituality. He accompanies the Diakonia of Beauty.

Dr. Martin Aurell is Professor of History of the Middle Ages at the University of Poitiers, where he was long-time director of the Centre d’Études Supérieures de Civilisation Médiévale. He specialises in society, religion and culture in western France, Great Britain and the Mediterranean in the Eleventh-Thirteenth centuries. He has been a member of the Institut Universitaire de France and the Institute for Advanced Studies at Princeton (NJ).
