We are a quirky family run pub based just outside of Newport town centre not far from Cowes ferry terminal. Stuart and Sal Took over The Stag 3 years ago after traveling and working in various venues from Edinburgh to Spain, they then decided to settle on the Isle of Wight as Stuart had lived here when he was a child with the memories of growing up around the pubs his parents had ran they decided to start their own adventure.

Here at The Stag we take pride ourselves in providing a high level of customer service to ensure you and your family or friends feel comfortable and well looked after at all times. We are a venue that provides table service so you can sit back and enjoy being waited on hand and foot! We stock a wide range of bottle and draught beers as well as a wines and soft drinks to suit all. We like to stock a variety of real ales with always having a local brewed Isle of Wight bitter available so everyone can have a little taste of the Island whilst visiting us.

Stuart and Sal base their menus on providing exactly what the customer wants and is looking for. They pride themselves on using delicious local produce from around the whole of the Island while keeping the mind set of affordable pub grub which changes with the season to always keep a fresh perspective.

We enjoy being able keep things fun with our exciting weekly event evening and special dates all year round with providing special menus, entertainment and offers.
