Cowes and East Cowes have a number of parks and gardens you can enjoy.

Whether you’re looking to relax in the sunshine or just want to take a walk surrounded by the lush greenery, Cowes has it all.

Cowes

Northwood Park in Cowes is home to Northwood House, a Grade II listed Georgian Manor House, which is used for many events such as weddings and other celebrations. The park is within walking distance of the centre of Cowes and a good place to relax away from the hustle bustle. The park is full of ancient trees – offering great shade where needed – as well as tennis courts, flower displays and pathways which wind their way through the park – making a great walk any time of the day.

Princes Green is adjacent to the shore in Cowes, offering beautiful views of the Solent – and is particularly popular during Cowes Week. The park is situated just off Cowes Esplanade, as well as in front of Queens Road – and can be accessed by either. Princes Green is known for its ‘Umbrella Tree’, which sits at the top of the park, said to have been originally planted more than 200 years ago. The park is the perfect place to sit and enjoy views of the Solent, as well as of the yacht racing which takes place in the area.

East Cowes

East Cowes Esplanade is a few minutes away from the Red Funnel ferry terminal, and provides beautiful views of Cowes – as well as the Solent. The park, which is alongside the Esplanade, includes a children’s play area, a café and tennis courts. The park and Esplanade is a great place for an evening walk, and if you’re lucky you’ll be able to enjoy the sun set in the distance – a sight not to be missed.

The gardens at Osborne are some of the most beautiful and well-kept in the country. Home to Queen Victoria’s former residence – Osborne House – you’ll be taken aback by the wonderful views on offer – in fact, Queen Victoria herself once remarked "It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot".

There is an entry fee to gain access to Osborne, but with that you are able to explore the grounds and the house.
