Spoon Carving Workshop - Full Day

Have you ever wanted to carve a spoon from scratch? Join us in the woods learning to carve a cooking spoon beginning with a branch section, carving it all the way down to finished spoon. We will learn axe techniques to remove material efficiently, moving on to a straight carving knife to further shape our spoons, followed by the curved hook knife to carve out the bowls. Becoming a part of the making process with an everyday item such as a spoon is a great way to connect with the organic material of wood and appreciate the natural world. It's also a good opportunity to disconnect for a day and slow down in the woods, listening to the once familiar sounds of hand tools carving.Ages 16+.
