Isle of Wight What's On Guide

Firm favourites on the calendar include the Royal Isle of Wight County Show where you can try your hand at sheep herding or take a tractor ride; Ventnor Fringe which is fast-gaining a reputation as one of the best small festivals in the UK; the award winning Isle of Wight Walking Festival where locals invite you to get to know their little slice of paradise, and of course, the world-renowned Cowes Week where there is the opportunity to have just as much fun on dry land as on the water!
Events
A variety of events on the Isle of Wight means you are entertained whatever season you are visiting. From children’s events, county shows, theatre shows in Shanklin to international sailing events there really is something for everyone.
Festivals
From music festivals with superstar line-ups to family-friendly, literary, comedy, arts and food festivals, you can be certain that treasured memories will be created. Combining a festival weekend with a holiday is one way to do it; enjoy the festival, but make sure you give yourself enough time to discover the Island.
Carnivals
Not only does the Isle of Wight have the oldest carnival (Ryde Carnival) in the UK, but there are also a variety of carnivals in many towns across the Island. Providing a colourful spectacle and a cheerful atmosphere, the carnivals are not to be missed.
Entertainment
The Isle of Wight comes to life at night with live music performances at a variety of venues across the Island. Experience the wide range of productions from comedies to musicals at the theatres or enjoy a new or old film at the cinemas.
