Our award winning historic thatched cottage, restored to the highest standard, has the accent on character. The cottage won the Island Conservation Award for 2006. It is situated within the grounds of an historic Manor House in 60 acres of beautiful downland with splendid views, in an Area of Outstanding Beauty. At the entrance gate there is a large duck pond with duck house.
The cottage is south facing and is very light and airy. It is cool in the summer and cosy in the winter. The large ground floor is open plan and has a terracotta tiled floor throughout. The sitting area has a feature fireplace. The kitchen has solid wood units with beech worktops, a built-in oven and hob and dishwasher.
On the first floor there are two double bedrooms. The main bedroom is double aspect and has a king sized bed, and an en suite show room. The second bedroom is L-shaped with twin beds that can be zipped together. There is a separate bathroom/wc with a Victorian cast iron bath.
There is a separate boiler room which houses the washing machine, tumble dryer, and an additional fridge/freezer. There is free WiFi at the cottage.
The cottage has its own secluded secured garden with patio.
