Glamping at Tapnell Farm

Tom’s Eco Lodge takes glamping to the next level, with beautiful safari tents, wood cabins, modulogs, eco pods and geodesic domes, all nestled away in the glorious surroundings of Tapnell Farm on the Isle of Wight. Just a short drive or scenic bike ride from the port of Yarmouth. 

Safari tents (sleeps 6 + 2) 

Perfect for families and groups of up to eight, each safari tent combines rustic chic with practical comforts, giving you a taste of camping without having to sacrifice those all-important luxuries!

Make yourself at home on the comfy sofas and in the spacious bedrooms, cook up a storm on the log burning range cooker before setting up the firepit for a relaxed evening just beyond your private decking area.

Each safari tent has its own private shower and toilet, fridge, BBQ, electricity and plenty of outdoor space to keep everyone entertained! Electric blankets will keep you cosy and warm in the cooler months too!

The safari tents are situated opposite the farm’s happy hens and sit in front of a woodland area with the communal pizza oven, benches and tree swing.

Wood cabins (sleeps 8 + 2)

Light, airy and contemporary, the wood cabins are spacious enough to comfortably sleep up to ten guests. Each modern cabin features an open plan living space, fully fitted kitchen, three bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room. The outside decking area has plenty of seating and a BBQ perfect for watching the sun set over the picturesque countryside vista.

Open 365 days a year, the cabins are fully heated and insulated, meaning you’ll enjoy a cosy stay at any time of the year!

Modulogs (sleeps 4 + 2)

Specially designed for Tapnell Farm, the modulogs are perfectly proportioned for groups of up to six. Each modulog has a double and twin bedroom (can be converted into two double bedrooms), a shower room and an open plan kitchen-diner and lounge with a sofa bed. The living space is ideal for relaxation and features a log burner and homely soft furnishings. Each modulog has a private decking area, outdoor seating, BBQ and plenty of logs and fuel. There's also an outdoor log burning tub - just fill with hot water, sit back and enjoy the view!

Open 365 days a year, the modulogs are fully heated and insulated, meaning you’ll enjoy a cosy stay at any time of the year!

Geodesic domes (sleeps 4 +2)

Nestled in the beautiful countryside surroundings of Tapnell Farm, these luxury geodesic domes are set apart from other accommodation, sited in a private location with separate access, a short stroll across the farm. Their position commands the most amazing views out across the Solent to Lymington and beyond, with Bournemouth in the distance. 

Each dome is accessed via an entrance porch extension which includes a log store, adjoining en-suite bathroom (shower and toilet) and separate kitchenette. The actual dome interior is open plan living / sleeping, with a dividing wall for the bunk room. The king size four poster bed is the centre piece of the room, as well as a cosy lounge area with log burner. No need to worry about chilly nights as the domes are insulated and each bed has an electric blanket to snuggle down under the covers.

Outside, the domes have their own BBQ and firepit where you can relax and enjoy the stunning sea views and sunsets. Domes 1 and 5 also have an outdoor log burning tub, and there is a communal pizza oven at the main accommodation site too.

Eco pods (sleeps 2 +2)

Fully insulated eco pods thoughtfully designed to maximise space, making them perfect for a romantic getaway for two or a snug retreat for a family of four. Each eco pod has a built-in double bed, a pull-out double sofa bed, open plan kitchenette and living area, shower room and toilet.

Plus, to make the most of the views, each pod features a private decking area, plenty of outdoor seating and a BBQ for al fresco dining perfect for watching the sun setting over the west wight.

Self catering farm cottages and houses at Tapnell Farm

The collection of characterful farmhouses, cottages and lodges at Tapnell Farm offers the perfect blend of space, comfort and rural charm. From large, beautifully restored farmhouses ideal for group getaways and celebrations, to cosy yet stylish lodges and cabins designed for relaxed family breaks, each property has been thoughtfully created to make the most of its stunning surroundings. With sweeping countryside views, peaceful gardens and easy access to our island’s coastline and attractions, these self catering accommodations provide an idyllic base for memorable stays for all group sizes.

Tapnell Manor (sleeps up to 26)

Big enough to sleep the largest of families but equally cosy and welcoming; Tapnell Manor has the rustic appeal of an old farmhouse. Set between two farms, with views to Tennyson Down and the Solent you will find yourself surrounded by natural beauty.

Inside the house there are plenty of rooms for guests to spread out: a games room for the more active, and plenty of open fires for the more relaxed. The farmhouse has 10 bedrooms: 6 doubles, 1 triple, 1 twin,1 family room with a double and twin and 1 nursery with cot and put up single. Other features include a welcoming kitchen with an Aga and a relaxed eating area, a conservatory with breath-taking views and a beautiful beamed dining room. Outside, in the enchanting garden there's room to roam, with ponds, ornaments and a wide assortment of flora and fauna to entertain the greenest of fingers.

Dairyman's Cottage (sleeps up to 10)

Dairyman’s Cottage has been decorated to a very high standard - think New England chic meets country retreat with sea-grass carpets throughout, beautiful bespoke fabrics and curtains, shabby chic furniture, luxury bedrooms with en-suites and a high spec open plan living area and kitchen. Outside there is a patio with BBQ, large garden and parking. We welcome well behaved dogs at the cottage too, but there is an extra cleaning charge for this.

One of the unique selling points of this holiday rental (apart from its location and views) is that it is also wheelchair friendly. The cottage has a spacious double patio bedroom on the ground floor with en-suite wet room. The living space is also on the ground floor so there are no steps to climb.

East Afton Farmhouse (sleeps up to 20)

East Afton Farmhouse is an impressive 1700s farmhouse, with event barns, and adjoining annex holiday cottage, located next to an Isle of Wight National Landscape (formerly known as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), on the site of the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival. East Afton is perfect for Isle of Wight group accommodation, sleeping up to 19 across both the main house and annex, with facilities and luxuries that include a plush cinema room. Both units can also be rented separately for smaller group and family holidays.

As East Afton is primarily a wedding venue, it is only available to book as a holiday let within 1 year of arrival date.

Poachers Lodge (sleeps 8)

A stylish 4-bedroom countryside retreat, Poachers Lodge has stunning views, a spacious garden, and a cosy log burner.

Poachers Perch (sleeps 6)

Poachers Perch is a 3-bedroom family cabin sleeping 6, featuring a sun deck with countryside views and a shared garden area.

The Wendy House (sleeps 8)

A bright and spacious 3-bedroom barn conversion, The Wendy House has breathtaking countryside and Solent views.

Every glamping accommodation has its own BBQ, fire pit and access to a communal pizza oven. You can even collect free fresh eggs from the Guest Services & Visitor Information Hub laid by the farm’s happy hens – when the hens oblige, of course!
