A historic hotel with over 300 years of island heritage

The Albion’s story begins in the early 1700s, when two small inns welcomed travellers drawn to the freshwater springs of the bay. By the 1860s, the site had become the Royal Albion Hotel — a grand seaside destination frequented by Victorian holidaymakers following Queen Victoria’s lead.

In the 1960s and ’70s, the hotel became a quiet hub for musicians and festival-goers attending the original Isle of Wight Festival. Today, The Albion remains one of the island’s most distinctive hotels, where history and comfort sit naturally side by side.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily in our light-filled Rock Restaurant, where the sea is always part of the experience. Our approach to food is simple: fresh, seasonal ingredients, sourced locally wherever possible, cooked with care.
