About
End of Summer Fair & Dog Show
See out the summer with a fun-filled family day at Goddards Brewery in Arreton, as Arreton Cricket Club hosts its End of Summer Fair & Dog Show.
Taking place on Saturday 12 September from 11am to 3pm, this free-entry Isle of Wight event brings together family entertainment, games, music and plenty of four-legged fun. Whether you’re looking for something to do with the children, fancy showing off your pooch or simply want to enjoy a relaxed day out on our island, there will be plenty happening throughout the event.
Fun for all the family
The End of Summer Fair will feature a mix of entertainment and activities for visitors of all ages. Enjoy music throughout the day, entertainment and character appearances, free face painting and games, before stopping for something tasty from the BBQ.
There will also be a raffle, giving you the chance to win a prize while supporting Arreton Cricket Club.
The fair is being held at Goddards Brewery in Hale Common, Arreton. Goddards is the oldest brewery operating on the Isle of Wight and moved to its purpose-built brewery and visitor centre in Arreton in 2023.
Bring your pooch to the dog show
Dogs get their own moment in the spotlight too, with the Arreton Cricket Club Dog Show taking place as part of the day.
Registration is open from 11am until 12pm, with judging beginning at 12pm. Entry costs £2 per class and it’s a fun show, so all dogs are welcome.
Classes include Best Handler, Best Male, Best Bitch, Waggiest Tail, Best Pedigree and Best Rescue. The show will be judged by Jan Andrews from the Isle of Wight Canine Association, with rosettes for all participants and prizes to be won.
So, whether your dog has the waggiest tail on the Isle of Wight, deserves recognition as a rescue star or simply loves being the centre of attention, bring them along and join in.
Make a day of it in Arreton
With free entry to the main fair, there’s every reason to gather the family and enjoy an end-of-summer day out in the heart of our island.
Goddards Brewery is also home to its Bar & Kitchen and brewery shop, making it a great setting for a leisurely visit while you’re in Arreton. The brewery is normally open from 11am on Saturdays.
Come along for dogs, games, food, music and family entertainment, and give summer a proper Isle of Wight send-off.
