About
At Ventnor Botanic Garden you will be able to collect a Walking with Dinosaur Plants Trail Map (when paying full admission) and head out into the Garden to discover the modern relatives of these prehistoric plants. With the Trail Map adults and children alike will be able to learn all about these plants as well as getting a firsthand experience of what they look, feel and smell like.
All the fossils on show relate to modern plants that can be found growing at Ventnor Botanic Garden. Examples include, the Monkey Puzzle Tree, Modern Gymnosperms, Ginkgo Tree and Modern Tree Ferns.
Trail Maps are available to buy for £1.50 from the Gift Shop.
Ventnor Botanic Garden lies at the heart of a remarkable microclimate on the south coast of the Isle of Wight. Protected by the chalk downs of the Ventnor Undercliff, VBG boasts an impressive collection of rare, subtropical and exotic plants. Normally found in protected glasshouses, that plants at VBG thrive in geographical plantings based on the Mediterranean zones of the world. Begin your day with a meander through the Med garden, then go down under in the Australian and New Zealand Gardens. In the afternoon, chill out with the cacti and agave in the Arid Garden and then find some sun in the South African Terraces.
All ages and generations of the family can spend quality time together exploring or relaxing in the beauty and tranquillity of the Garden.
