Stargazing evenings, stargazing weekends will not be run in 2021
The Island Planetarium has been "Reaching for the Stars" for over 25 years, offering a fascinating virtual journey through time and space in our immersive ASTRODOME 360 STAR-THEATRE. This man-made Universe, stimulates your mind and imagination, taking you to places you have never been before and we'll show you what to look for in the sky tonight. Each show lasts for around half an hour.
In The Robert Hooke Society Exhibition before your show, find out about this great Island scientist/inventor, born in Freshwater in 1635 and surveyor of the City of London after the Great Fire. Physicist, Astronomer, Geologist, Engineer and inventor/developer of the universal joint, and many mechanisms in daily use today.
Special for this summer holiday only; a display of meteorites and real MOON rocks/soil.

On some days we have visiting schools in term time, thus we open on some days for public shows on request at Noon or 1.30pm. Please call 01983 761555 the day before you wish to visit to confirm we are open.
