The NHS hospital provides care to both medical and surgical patients and has 477 beds and offers a number of services including the NEW Beacon Health Centre, a fracture clinic, outpatients and day surgery.

Specialist services provided at St Mary's Hospital include urology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, ears nose and throat (ENT), cardiology, gastroenterology, rehabilitation, respiratory, dermatology, care of the elderly, rheumatology, gynaecology, maternity and paediatrics.

All these services are supported by diagnostic imaging, laboratory and pharmacy which are all onsite. There is also an Intensive Care Unit, a Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit, a Coronary Care Unit, an Endoscopy Unit and a Chest Investigation Unit.

St Mary's Hospital is located in the outskirts of Newport, which is the county town at the centre of the Island. Visitors by car approaching from the Sandown/Ryde side of the Island should proceed along the dual carriage way from Newport towards Cowes. The hospital entrance is on the right-hand side, just past the roundabout. Car parking is available at the front of the hospital - by turning right at the entrance to the site.

For visitors to the north of the hospital, the car park is accessed by turning left at the site entrance.

For visitors travelling by bus - there are buses from across the Island to Newport - depending on where you are travelling from, you may need to change buses at Newport bus station and catch the Cowes bus which passes outside the hospital.
