Welcome to Retro Staycations Glamping Retreat & Campsite

Nestled in the idyllic Isle of Wight countryside, Retro Staycations offers a unique glamping and traditional camping experience. Stay in an iconic American Airstream! Camping pitches and eco-pods are also available.

The spacious 4-acre site is situated in a pretty meadow on a working farm in the countryside, providing a peaceful and hidden spot on the Isle of Wight. It’s the ideal spot to relax and unwind.

Convenient location

Despite its rural location, the site is only a 6-minute drive to the town of Ryde, where there are plenty of thriving independent shops and restaurants to discover, as well as miles of beautiful sandy beaches.

For those without a car, the site is serviced by neighbouring business Ryde Taxis, who will happily transport guests wherever they wish to go. Buses and trains travel from Ryde Transport Interchange to all towns and villages across the Island.

Vintage American Airstreams

There are six gleaming silver vintage Airstream caravans. Two-berth, three-berth and four-berth vans are available along with one six-berth Airstream.

Whilst retaining many of their original 1940s-1970s features, the vans provide a vibrant retro style that’s subtly equipped for the 21st-century camper. 

Each classic caravan offers comfy beds, hot showers and those all-important glamping accessories. Reflecting the scenic views of nearby Brading Downs in their polished exteriors, the Airstreams are a genuine sight to behold. Imported directly from the USA, their curvy retro shape and shimmering exteriors are unlike anything else you’ll see on the Island.

Onboard facilities include fully-equipped micro-kitchens containing fridges, cookers, heaters and toasters. Freshly laundered white bed linen and towels are supplied, and each caravan has its own outdoor picnic bench with parasol, classic deck chairs, as well as a BBQ and log burner.

These are by no means your average static caravan. This is a fun, trendy, caravan experience!

Traditional Camping

Winner of Best Isle of Wight Campsite in Red Funnel’s Tourism Awards 2025, those wishing to bring their own tent/campervan/motorhome/caravan/TentBox will find 10 electric hook-ups accompanied by freshwater standpipes, hot showers and washroom facilities, communal fridge-freezer, a sheltered/shaded area for socialising and two brand new camping pods (unfurnished). Non-electric camping pitches are also available.

Friends and families camp side-by-side — no marked pitches, just plenty of space for games, good food, and making happy holiday memories.

Feeling peckish? The on-site farm shop is open 24 hours a day, and contains a wide range of locally sourced produce, including milk, eggs, fresh meat, sausages, burgers and steaks for BBQs, as well as charcoal and logs for firepits (available to hire).  You can pre-order breakfast baskets with locally sourced ingredients grown and reared directly on the farm. 

A Step Out of the Ordinary

Perfectly secluded, Retro Staycations offers an ideal safe haven for families with young children and a blissful sense of peace and tranquillity for couples. With BBQs sizzling, fire pits glowing, kids laughing and playing in the meadow, the owners are passionate about offering a wholesome holiday experience that promotes traditional family values and evokes fond childhood memories. Around the farm, you’ll see donkeys, ducks, sheep, lambs, pigs, cows and chickens, plus an abundance of wildlife, from Isle of Wight red squirrels, rabbits, woodpeckers and more.

Ferry Discounts

Discounts on vehicle ferry returns are available with both Wightlink and Red Funnel ferries. Those travelling by bicycle or on foot get 20% off the Wightlink Fast Cat from Portsmouth Harbour Station to Ryde Pier Head.
