Close to Yarmouth, on the way to Newport, you will find Chessell Pottery Barns - which includes a delightful little cafe serving all sorts of wonderful home cooked foods - from cakes to a tasty lunch. The cafe source food for the menu locally and pride themselves on their award winning Island Cream Tea - freshly baked home baked scones with clotted cream, delicious strawberry jam, all served on hand-made Chessell strawberry pottery. You’ll be able to enjoy a delightful day out at Chessell, as well as sampling some of the splendid food on offer before you leave.
And if you’re looking for something quirky, with a bit of history behind it, Off The Rails restaurant in Yarmouth might be worth your attention. Recently refurbished and on the site of the old Yarmouth to Newport railway station, the cafe offers fantastic choice for those who want to stop for something to eat - with a wide ranging menu to suit all tastes.
The restaurant also meets a walkway - previously the track bed for the former railway - giving you the chance to walk off any meal and take in some of the great views. If you enjoy fine food and a bit of history, head down to Yarmouth and visit Off The Rails.
