Whitwell Station sits on the former Newport, Godshill & St Lawrence Railway line. Set in nearly 2 acres, overlooking the beautiful village of Whitwell it has commanding views over the southern downs – an Isle of Wight National Landscape (formerly known as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). 

With ample parking, the two cottages – ‘Bluebell’ and ‘Primrose’ that were once the ticket office, porter’s office and the ladies waiting room have been carefully converted into two 2 bedroom cottages - each sleeping four.  They both comprise of a fully fitted kitchen, bathroom, one double bedroom and one twin bedroom with two single beds. They have been kept very much in a typical railway theme with both cottages opening up on to the disused platform, where on a warm evening watching the sun go down over the valley is peaceful experience not to be missed.  

The location is ideal for exploring the island, with Ventnor being only 3 miles away. Light Numerous scenic footpaths and bridleways within easy reach of the station makes exploring on foot or by bicycle a real pleasure.  (Lockable dry storage for bicycles is available on request).  An excellent dog-friendly local pub, only 400 metres away is always popular with our guests serving both lunchtime and evening meals.  We’re dog friendly too but do ask for a small doggy surcharge of £25.
