About
A solo exhibition by artist Laura Hathaway, showcasing a series of abstract glass and paper artworks, developed through the support of an Arts Council England DYCP grant and created in Laura's studio on the Isle of Wight.
Exposing the artistic process and closely connecting with audiences, Laura will be creating new works in the gallery space throughout the duration of the exhibition. This residency aspect adds a dynamic dimension to the showcase, allowing visitors to experience the evolution of Laura's works firsthand.
Laura's artistic expression is a tactile and immersive process. Painting directly onto glass and paper surfaces with her hands and finger tips, the physicality of pressing, smearing and throwing thick globules of paint onto glass and paper surfaces captures feelings and movements.
Join Laura for accompanying hands-on mark-making workshop where we'll repurpose everyday objects from our homes and the natural world into unique painting tools. Together with Laura, you will explore abstract painting techniques as an expressive process, using art as a non-verbal tool for self expression, collaborating on artwork in the gallery space. Dive into experimentation, connection, and the free flow of creativity as we infuse familiar materials with new life and co-create.
