Isle of Wight cafes & tearooms

Whether you have just finished a good long stomp around the Isle of Wight’s amazing network of footpaths, looking for lunch during a day on the beach or are mooching around the shops, a good café is always a pleasure.

A mouth-watering slice of cake, a freshly prepared sandwich or just a thirst-quenching mug of tea or coffee are a delight.

The Isle of Wight has no shortage of wonderful cafes and tearooms, so here are just a few you can Say Yes to, when you are looking for a break in your day.

If you are walking east from Ryde towards Seaview, the aromas from The Dell Café on the seawall will stop you in your tracks. Barista coffees, brilliant breakfasts and lovely lunches are all on offer here.

Lady Scarlett’s Tea Parlour in Ventnor offers a quirky look back to a bygone era with vintage china and a real 1940s vibe, and it’s gluten free.

And if you are out west, there are some well-established cafés to check out: Gossips and PO41 in Yarmouth, and The Piano Café at Freshwater to name but three.

The County town of Newport has a good selection of super, independently owned cafes, such as Caffé Isola, with its own aromatic Island Roasted coffee, ComiCoffee, with its action hero theme, and the locals’ favourite lunch stop, French Franks.
