Gwydyr House, a traditional 200 year old stone cottage visited by Queen Victoria at the turn of the last century, is now a newly refurbished holiday home ideal for golfers, bikers, walkers, dog lovers, as well as offering plenty of parking for those bringing a car. 

It is the perfect gateway to explore the island for a short break or a holiday. 

Ideally situated a 15 minute walk from the hovercraft from Southsea or fastcat from Portsmouth Harbour or a 10 minute drive from the car ferry at Fishbourne. You can be at your destination within 30 minutes on foot from the mainland! 

If you don’t want to bring a car, it’s an easy 10 minute walk to Ryde town centre that has a plethora of shops, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. If golf is your thing it’s a 2 minute walk to the local golf club. 

There’s a local beach just through the golf course great for collecting shells, drift wood and sea glass and letting the dog run free, at low tide you can walk straight through to Ryde and on to the lovely golden sandy Appley beach. 

Buses are frequent, stop virtually outside and can take you all around the island 

Alternatively you can cycle all over the island, there are more cycle paths than roads!  

Gwydyr House can sleep 6 plus; offering 3 bedrooms; a king, double and a room that can be set up as a twin or super king, there are 2 newly fitted bathrooms; a family bathroom with fast electric shower over the bath and double sinks and a downstairs shower room. There is of course a lounge/diner, and a newly fitted kitchen with breakfast bar 

The cottage is carpeted upstairs and has wooden floors with rugs downstairs. 

Outside, the cottage has a front garden, plenty of private parking and a lovely back garden for all to enjoy. A large deck with barbecue, lounge area, dining table and covered seating. Down the steps to a grass area for kids and dogs to play. Through the gated arch you will find a relaxing area that catches the last of the evening sun with a pond, fountain, swing seat and a large summer house great for the kids to play in.
