The biggest 80s festival to rock the Isle of Wight is back for a sixth year!
Hold on to your 80s ra-ra skirts for a little while longer and don’t chuck your roller boots away just yet, as the Isle of Wight is gearing itself up for the ultimate feel-good festival!
Jack Up The 80s is a three-day retro pop festival in its sixth year and provides a family weekend of musical entertainment from household chart names, food, attractions, kids arts and crafts and stalls.
The event is fast making a name for itself as the most fun festival on the South Coast. It offers an unbeatable atmosphere and is completely safe, inclusive and affordable for all. In excess of £20,000 has been raised in the past 2 years for local charities and good causes.
The festival will be at its easy-to-get-to location Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde. Shuttle buses will be provided to transport festivalgoers from Ryde Esplanade.
First line up to be announced is British pop group, T'Pau who had a string of Top 40 hits in the late 1980s including the Number One 'smash' China in Your Hand. The band, led by flame haired 80s sensation Carol Decker will be transporting audiences back to their youth by performing tracks such as Heart and Soul, Secret Garden, Valentine and many more.
Grammy Award-winning and international chart-topping British music legend, Leo Sayer has been announced as the second artist to perform at Jack Up The 80's. Leo and his band will be playing a set crammed full of his numerous Top 10 hits.
Pop punk princess, Toyah Willcox joins Jack Up The 80's line up. Toyah is one of the most iconic artists of the decade with a career spanning over 35 years. She has had 13 top 40 singles, recorded 24 albums and toured live across the world.
Boy band, Five will also be performing at Jack up the 80’s. The pop act will provide an incredible upbeat atmosphere when the three original members of Five, Sean, Ritchie and Scott take to the stage.
British soul star, Jaki Graham will also be performing. A highly-acclaimed performer, Jaki is renowned for putting on a great live set and loves the Isle of Wight having holidayed here many times.
English pop singer, songwriter and actor Chesney Hawkes is also part of the line up. Chesney is best known for releasing the hit single The One And Only, from the film's soundtrack.
Jazz Funk band Shakatak will appear on stage at the festival. Shakatak were a massive part of the Jazz Funk movement in the 80's and had smash hits with Down On The Street, Night Birds, Easier Said Than Done, Invitations and many more.
