Contemporary handmade ceramics and wall art at Quarr Abbey
Thursday, 31st August to Tuesday, 5th September
10.00am to 4.30pm - Free entry
Quarr Abbey Art Gallery is to host an Autumn Show of distinctive and unique sculptural ceramics and oil-painted mixed media wall art, by popular Isle of Wight artist Andrew Dowden.
Andrew's main interest is form and surface texture, many of his pieces being hand-carved. Inspiration comes from many sources including: tracks on the landscape made by man, machine and nature; history, architecture, archaeology, engineering and machinery - all adding further interest to designs. Oil-painted 3D, mixed media wall art gives further dimension to this substantial and exciting exhibition.
Andrew will be in attendance throughout the show and will be happy to chat to visitors about his work. A percentage of all sales goes to Quarr Abbey, a registered charity.
Venue facilities: Large free car park, disabled access, WCs, teashop and garden, farm shop, visitor centre, free entry to abbey church, old abbey ruins, woodland walk, landscaped gardens.
