Quality Assurance Caravan & Holiday Parks
The VisitEngland Star and AA Pennant rating for Holiday, Caravan, Touring and Camping Parks reflects the overall quality of the park and the highest rating of five Stars or Pennants is reserved for those parks of exceptional quality which also provide specific key facilities and services.
Parks are visited annually by trained, impartial assessors. A rating of one to five Stars or Pennants is awarded, based on cleanliness, environment and the quality of facilities and service provided.
Acceptable - to achieve this grade, the Park must have acceptable levels of cleanliness with acceptable standards of maintenance and customer care.
Good overall - all the above points plus an improved level of landscaping, lighting, refuse disposal and maintenance. May be less expensive than more highly rated parks with a degree of practicality.
Good overall - most Parks fall within this category; three stars represent the industry standard. The range of facilities provided may vary from Park to Park, but they will be of a good standard and will be well maintained.
Very Good - overall quality will be found at this level. You can expect careful attention to detail in the provision of all services and facilities. Four star Parks rank among the industry's best.
Excellent - overall quality standards can be expected from Parks with this grading. Highest levels of customer care will be provided. All facilities will be maintained in pristine condition in attractive surroundings.
Offers a simple standard of facilities. There will be an adequate drinking water supply and reasonable drainage, plus a washroom with flush toilets (if there are no toilet facilities this should be clearly stated). The ground will be well-drained with some level pitches, and entrance and access roads will be of an adequate width and surface.
Offer a better level of facilities, services, customer care and ground maintenance. You should find separate washrooms, including at least two WCs and two washbasins, with hot and cold water.
Are of a very good standard with well-maintained facilities and grounds, and attention to customer care and security. Expect to find modern toilet blocks and shower cubicles. The parks offer some electric-hook-ups, hardstandings, wheel runs and/or firm level ground. A laundry with at least one washing machine and drying facilities will be available, and you can expect to find a children's playground.
Have achieved a high standard in all areas. You can expect fully tiled shower cubicles and some combined toilet-washing cubicles. A warden is available at all times, and there is a good level of security and supervision. At least half of the pitches will have an electric hook-up. There will also be a shop on site or nearby, and the park will have a reception area and a late-arrivals enclosure.
FIVE Pennants (Premier):
Facilities, security and customer care are exceptional. You can expect to find electric hook-ups at most pitches, and first-class toilet facilities, including several self-contained cubicles ideally with a WC, washbasin and shower. At many Premier Parks you will find a well-equipped shop, a heated swimming pool, and a cafe, restaurant and/or bar.
