Visit the Isle of Wight this coming February and March to tune into the chilled out and relaxed atmosphere of our Acoustic Isle. You’ll find cosy village pubs filled with live music and serving the best in delicious local food and drink, as well as stunning accommodation offering the warmest of welcomes.
Early spring on the Isle of Wight is the perfect opportunity to switch off from day to day life and tune in to the sounds of our gentle Island life. Cycle along woodland paths serenaded only by birdsong, relax at a farmhouse bed and breakfast and then enjoy an evening of laid-back acoustic music in a gorgeous waterside inn.
As much an opportunity to relax and unwind and take in the Isle of Wight’s unique atmosphere as to listen to music, Acoustic Isle offers an eclectic mix of musical styles drawing from blues, jazz, folk and funk, showcasing the Island’s fantastic acoustic acts and artists who come together and perform in our Acoustic Isle season.
Had a brilliant night and just don’t want to leave? Check out some rooms where live music is only a couple of steps away from your bedroom door: The Spyglass, The Fishbourne, The Seaview Hotel and The Spinnaker.
Take a listen to the track below to get a taste of some of the music you could be listening to live on the Isle of Wight - whilst enjoying some delicious food with your other half by a cosy log fire!
The Isle of Wight is building a reputation for itself as a top food and drink destination! We were recently featured in the fabulous Jamie Magazine, where a variety of foodie destinations across the Island were praised for their stunning local produce and warm Isle of Wight welcome. The colder months are the perfect time to discover the Island's fabulous food scene for yourself - the fire is lit and the candles are glowing, creating the perfect ambience for a culinary treat.
To the north of the Island lie Cowes and Gurnard, home to the fantastic Little Gloster (make sure you’re there to catch the beautiful sunset!), Mess Canteen (try the jam jar cocktails), Coast Bar and Dining Room (particularly yummy burgers and pizza!) and pubs bustling with activity and live music such as The Anchor, The Fountain and The Union.
Over in the east there are a range of high quality food establishments - for example the world famous Seaview Hotel (somewhat of an Isle of Wight institution) and Lockslane Bistro in Bembridge. The Pilot Boat, Crab and Lobster in Bembridge and the Old Fort in Seaview are very popular pubs and perfect stop offs after a walk in the fresh Island air.
If you're down in the south, step into the Spyglass Inn to hear the superb sounds of local Isle of Wight musicians whilst looking out over the English Channel and enjoying some delicious food. Walk along the high street in Ventnor to take your pick from a range of brilliant restaurants such as El Toro Contento and Fogg's of Ventnor who pride themselves in using fresh, local produce. The Buddle Inn in Niton is definitely worth a visit. Sit by their large open fire and sip a pint of Isle of Wight ale.
Way out west lies the The Piano Cafe - a great stop off point after a brisk country walk up Tennyson Down (named after the poet laureate who'd walk there every day). Visit the Red Lion in Freshwater for some tasty pub grub, or make your way to The Bugle in Yarmouth to experience a lovely local pub in a quaint town, steeped in Isle of Wight history!
Just for Acoustic Isle, the lovely Travel Ambassadors at our Visitor Information Centre will be running a special offer on Red Squirrel E Bike Hire!
