Since acquiring charitable status in 2013, there’s never been a better time to visit the Island’s Gold award-winning Owl & Monkey Haven. Recent developments have seen the sanctuary expand to over double its original size, and an abundance of recent arrivals (which include Barbary apes, leaf monkeys, kookaburras and a baby capuchin!) mean there are plenty of new animals to see and discover.
From the noisy whooping lar gibbons to the large and impressive colobus monkeys, the Owl & Monkey Haven lays claim to the biggest primate collection on the Isle of Wight; all rescued from various backgrounds.
The daily talk programme allows visitors to gain personal information on all the wonderful creatures cared for at the Haven. Our friendly team provide guided tours throughout the day and an opportunity for you to get up close and personal with some of the reptiles and hand-reared owls who make appearances at the daily owl talks.
Want a memory you’ll never forget? Why not pre-arrange a marmoset encounter before your visit? These exclusive experiences take you inside the marmosets’ enclosure where you will be able to feed and interact with these inquisitive South American monkeys (see website or call for details).
