Who Does What

The Partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Chamber of Commerce, Tourism and Industry

In June 2008 the Isle of Wight Council moved to take a more strategic role in the promotion and development of tourism to the Island.  As part of this change we entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chamber of Commerce, Tourism and Industry (CCTI).

This clearly sets out the types of activities that the council, as a strategic lead and the CCTI, as an industry lead, intend to undertake to improve the value of the visitor economy to the Isle of Wight.  Under this arrangement the CCTI are producing the seasonal pocket guides and will produce the accommodation guide.  The council will not be producing an accommodation guide,  under our new role, we have been leading on the marketing campaign the exhibitions programme and other strategic marketing and PR activity, and we will continue to do this in the future.

What is Isle of Wight Council Tourism Services?

Isle of Wight Council Tourism Services is the council department dedicated to the strategic role in the promotion and development of tourism to the Island.

It provides a range of marketing opportunities and services that businesses can take advantage of.
