Historic Tree Tour

Join Osborne's head gardener for a wander through the grounds and wider estate admiring the wealth of beautiful trees. Many were very early introductions to this country, many are too tender to be grown far from the South coast but most were planted as gifts to the Royal family or as commemorative trees to mark specific family or State occasions. 'Bus-tival’

The 1940’s Experience 
30^th June – 1^st July 2012
Inspired music and dance … Silk stockings and military machines … Men in uniforms and spivs with goods for sale – pure nostalgia! Jitterbug your way back to the 1940s, experience travel by steam train, and relive the hustle and bustle of a country railway station where war time activities collide with every day rural life.

See the farmyard threshing machine working in the shadow of a magnificent WW2 fighter plane, while soldiers prepare for active service. Enjoy songs of the era with female trio ‘The Spitfires’ and meet the ‘French Resistance’ as they take over part of Havenstreet Station!

Chale Show 2012

Probably the most traditional and distinguished family summer show on the Island. Boasting an incredible display of horticultural exhibits, a craft marquee, antique fair, farmers market, steam fair & vintage vehicles, the Chale Show has now been running for over 80-years

Victorian Weekend 
4th & 5th August
living, breathing historical experience … Rediscover a forgotten world of Sherlock Holmes, Victorian maids, steam train travel, and ladies in bustle gowns.

Be astonished with Mr Alexander's Travelling Show featuring astounding acts of juggling, balancing, uni-cycling and all manner of skills. Watch as 'Queen Victoria' arrives from her home at Osborne by Royal train, and take a trip down 'memory lane' with nostalgic music from Fiona Harrison, while browsing the Victorian stalls offering a wealth of treasures

Isle of Wight Garlic Festival
18 & 19 August 2012 
Sandown to Newport road - the A3056 - at the Fighting Cocks Crossroads, near NewchurchThis major family show celebrates the Island's position as the UK's premier garlic growing region. As you would expect, there's lots of lovely garlic-flavoured produce, plus live music, spectacular acrobatic demonstrations, magic shows for the kids and much more.

See some silly things to do with traction engines, marvel at the fascinating working steam demonstrations, or go for something completely different and sample our ‘Sanctuary’ for a little pampering and indulgence.

International Charity Classic Car Extravaganza 
15-16 September 2012, 11am – 5.30pm  
A spectacular collection of classic cars from all over the UK and beyond will decend on the Isle of Wight on September 15^th and 16^th 2012.

Saturday 15^th the show will be held at Newport Quay and Sunday 16^th the show will be at Ryde Esplanade. The 2012 show promises a great variety of vintage, classic, custom and retro cars, bikes and other unusual vehicles. In all the will be in excess of 700 vehicles. Tell 020 8439 7871
