Tritone Singers will be paying tribute to the talented composer, Betty Roe, MBE, in their next concert on Saturday 29th February, at Garfield Road Methodist Church, Ryde; Betty will be 90 years young this year and to mark her milestone birthday Tritone Singers, under the direction of Richard Wilkins, will be performing 3 of her settings of English poems for mixed chorus, including 'Goe and catche a falling star'.
To complement the Betty Roe settings, the choir are also presenting several English partsongs and madrigals, including the glorious 'Lay a Garland' by Pearsall, Stanford's ethereal 'The Blue Bird' and the joyous 'My Spirit Sang All Day' by Finzi.
The Tritone Singers renowned sensitivity and depth of tonal variety will be amply demonstrated with music from the 16th to the 20th centuries.
