Isle of Wight Walking Festival

The multi-award winning Isle of Wight Walking Festival will take place on the Island during Spring and Autumn 2024, celebrating its 25th anniversary.

The Spring Walking Festival will be from Saturday 11th May to Sunday 19th May and the Autumn Walking Festival will be from Saturday 5th October to Sunday 13th October. Once again local and passionate Walk Leaders will share with you their favourite seasonal routes, special viewpoints and hidden gems. There will be lots of walks for every ability - there’s something on offer for everyone.

Walking festivals are a great way to enjoy the great outdoors and see parts of the Island you can only explore by foot. Whether you enjoy a light stroll, are looking for your next heart-racing challenge or simply after a new destination to discover, take inspiration from the locals’ sharing their favourite routes.

Whether you enjoy a stroll along the flat with a pit-stop at the pub, a jaunt through the countryside with your four-legged friend or like to test your mettle against leg burning inclines (of which the Island has many), the IW Walking Festival offers something for everyone. 

Explore the Isle of Wight on foot

Over 50% of the Isle of Wight is recognised as an Isle of Wight National Landscape (formerly known as Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and is one of few places in the UK to gain UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status for its unspoiled landscape, clear waters and thriving wildlife and spectacular views. Add over 500 miles of well-maintained and signposted footpaths and you'll see why the Isle of Wight is the perfect place for a walking festival. The majority of the IW Walking Festival walks are free or there is a small donation to charity or charge requested.
