#80 - Trek with Alpacas round an area of outstanding natural beauty
Isle Of Wight
AboutWalkers exploring the gorgeous landscape around Alum Bay may be surprised to stumble across a herd of alpacas. The four legged animals are resident in the village of Wellow but are often led on treks of the area by West Wight Alpacas.
Visitors can take part in a walk with a picnic around their farm or can venture out on an off-site trek. Guides lead the way and give a bit more information about how the animals are bred and cared for.
A popular route is up to Headon Warren – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where the ground is rich with purple heather, backed by stunning views of the Needles Lighthouse.
