AboutOne of the most distinctive landmarks on the Island is the imposing gothic-style “Appley Tower” which stands tall above our most extensive sandy beaches at Ryde and Appley. It is all that remains of Appley Towers, a tudor mansion which once stood in Ryde.
Inside the tower is a small gift shop selling fossils and semi-precious stones, and for just a £1 you can venture to the top of Appley Tower, for breath-taking views across the whole of the beach and across the Solent back to the mainland.
In addition to the popular sandy beach, Appley Park to the rear of the tower is also a beautiful spot, and is where you will find Goodleaf Tree Climbing located.
