#3 - Smash the lap record on an all-weather karting track
Isle Of Wight
AboutAs far back as the 1960s there were Go Karts racing around the site of the former Ryde Airport at Westridge - along with the former pavilion building which featured as a nightclub in the 1973 film “That’ll Be The Day”. Nowadays there is no sign of the original airport, or indeed David Essex (the star of the movie) – but there is a brand new all-weather karting track.
Wight Karting offers a great racing day out for families, with a range of speed restricted karts enabling anyone from the age of 8 and upwards to have a go. For any “petrolheads” looking for some adrenaline fuelled fun the 460 metre track is the perfect arena, behind the wheel of one of their 270cc karts (not limited.)
After a hard days racing relax in their high spec clubhouse and La Babalu Diner (named after the club from the film) and enjoy great refreshments, free wifi, and argue over podium placements.
