#25 - Hear lions and tigers roar as the waves crash on the shore at Isle of Wight Zoo
Isle Of Wight
AboutJust metres from Sandown’s golden beach you will find Isle of Wight Zoo, where lions and tigers live alongside lemurs and meerkats. The imposing site sits within the remains of a Victorian fort which protected the famous coastline.
Today it is a sanctuary for animals from around the world with Asia, Africa, The Americas and Australasia all being represented by four legged creatures.
Help feed milk to a tiger, fruit to a lemur or step inside the wallaby enclosure at dinnertime. Or, for a quirkier experience try out the zoo’s climbing wall where you can look down on prowling big cats.
