The Boat House Studio

Come and stay in our new stylish, self contained Boat House Studio. It is now available from June 2014 for short stays. It is ideally located if you are walking, or cycling round the Island, or just want to experience the changing sea and skies and listen to the waves.

The studio is situated within an area of outstanding natural beauty, only few minutes from National Trust bridle paths overlooking the famous Sugarloaf and Woody Bay and very close to the 12th century Norman church and with St Catherine’s Lighthouse nearby.

The Location

The studio offers the perfect location to explore the Isle of Wight and especially St Lawrence and its range of bays and wild coves. These walks take you over the cliffs to Steep Hill Cove and its famous crab shacks, on to The Botanical Gardens and on to Ventnor and its harbour.

Take in the whole Ventnor experience with its beach and colourful beach huts and its wide range of avant-garde cafes, bars, shops and galleries, and its popular arts festivals.

There are regular ferries by car and shuttles by foot in Cowes, Ryde, Fishborne, Yarmouth and there is a good bus service across the whole island. We can offer 15% discount on any Red Funnel Car Ferry from Southampton to East Cowes

The Studio

The Studio is self contained and light, bright and quirky with its own entrance and double patio doors, which open onto a small private Mediterranean style patio to sit out on. There is an open plan small kitchen/ diner for making light meals with a comfortable lounge with TV and wifi access. The walk through open plan bedroom offers double or twin beds. There is a separate, stylish modern en-suite bathroom with bath, shower and WC.

Our wonderful gazebo looks right over the sea, with spectacular views of the Sugar Loaf and it can be available for a drink, or a cream tea. There is a large gas barbeque and hob which is great for cooking meals to eat on the patio or in the gazebo.

A small welcome pack is available on arrival -  arrangements for the key will be given in advance. Book in times are 3.00pm and departure times are 10.30am. We have a private parking space for the studio.

There is a well-stocked post office/community shop across the road which offers a range of food and drinks, papers and other treats.
