Willses is an enchanting 16th century thatched cottage situated in Brighstone, on the Isle of Wight. It is perfectly located for walking, cycling, fossil hunting, sea swimming, and even paragliding if you are brave enough. It is also an ideally situated stepping-stone to start out from if you are looking to explore this wonderful island. The cottage and its grounds have recently undergone a huge no-expense-spared renovation to restore it to its former glory whilst adding a few of the modern touches we all take for granted nowadays.
Brighstone village is situated in the scenic, rural south west of the island known locally as ‘Back o’ the Wight’. It is perfectly located with the Jurassic coast just 10 minutes walk away, famous for its concentrated number of dinosaur fossils. Alternatively with the sweeping Downs on the doorstep ramblers can join the Tennyson Trail in 10 minutes and explore Brighstone Forest or walk the Warrior Trail. Mottistone Manor & Gardens is a National Trust property and only 5 minutes drive away.
The village also boasts a wonderful Village Shop, open 7 days a week incorporating a delicatessen with local produce, a bakery and a post office, there is also a newsagents, museum, and a wonderful giftshop. The Three Bishops pub is 5 minutes walk from the B&B and has a nice beer garden and offers ‘pub grub’. There is a bus stop outside the village shop with 6 services through the day running from Newport to Alum Bay via Freshwater.
Willses B&B offers a double room with ensuite or a twin room with ensuite together with a newly converted self catering Barn accommodating two adults. The Barn features a bedroom which can be arranged with twin beds or as a superking with an ensuite. There is a kitchen, living & dining area offering a cosy and comfortable living arrangement and an outside seating area. All our guests are invited to enjoy our lovely garden if they have time. There is also free wifi throughout the property and private parking on site.
We are very happy to accommodate one small or medium sized very well behaved dog in our barn if you would like to holiday with your four legged friend.
