Toreaves is a delightful and spacious property with amazing views. It is less than a mile to the centre of Shanklin old village where there are plenty of pubs and restaurants or you can take the path down to the beach and esplanade. It has great access to the coastal path and to footpaths up to the downs. It is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
To make Toreaves a special holiday home we have done our best to provide all those things you need when going on a self catering holiday but which are a nuisance to remember to pack. So that you can have a great holiday we provide those things and lots of extras too!
There will be washing up liquid, hand wash and moisturiser, dish cloths, kitchen towel rolls, tea towels and hand towels, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, loo roll and washing powder (bio and non bio plus fabric conditioner) to use in the washing machine.
The kitchen is well equipped: there is a dishwasher with tablets for the week, fridge-freezer, a good range of pans plus a large wok and plenty of good quality utensils including a cafetière (and fresh coffee grounds for it), kitchen knives, scissors, the essential corkscrew and more. Cling film and foil are also provided. We also provide extras in case you feel culinarily creative while you are on holiday - electric beater, bread maker (plus a ready mixed ingredient pack) and a slow cooker.
We always make sure there is a selection of store cupboard basics in the pantry; flour, sugar, salt, vinegar, cooking and olive oil plus a small selection of tins and dried foods in case you need them.
Filter coffee, a selection of teas and pods for the Nespresso machine are in the kitchen.
A welcome pack of fruit, fresh bread, butter, eggs, biscuits, milk, fruit juice and a more interesting drink are also provided to welcome you to Toreaves.
To make things easier for your shopping please note that Waitrose, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Asda and Tesco do deliver to Luccombe should you want to make an online order on your account. There are other supermarkets within 3miles: Co-op, Lidl and Aldi. Shanklin also has a butcher, chemists, and a range of other shops and services.
Of course there are plenty of places to eat out nearby in Shanklin and take aways too, some of which will deliver to Luccombe. Further afield on the island there is a really good selection of restaurants covering all types of food, from traditional fish and chips to street food and fusion cuisine.
Every bed is made up with crisp white cotton sheets and all guests are provided with a luxury bath sheet and a hand towel for use during their stay.
There is a large selection of games, books and local guides in the living room and some children's outdoor games in a storage bench outside. A CD player with blue tooth connection is also provided. There is a blue ray player and the TV is internet connected so you can access Netflix and other streaming accounts as well as Free sat programmes.
The large garden is well maintained with a couple of decking areas. Garden furniture such as table and chairs is provided for al fresco dining while you enjoy the glorious views. There is a large BBQ available with charcoal provided and if you just want to lie back and relax you'll find a selection of recliners, sun loungers and cushions stored in the undercroft of the house.
A travel cot, potty, baby step and high chair are available to save you the trouble of packing them if you have young children. However, please note that we do not have a stair gate.
No pets are allowed at Toreaves so you can be sure that there will be no pet hair or dander in the environment.
