A charming Grade II listed coastguard cottage on the esplanade with stunning sea views across Cowes Harbour to the Hampshire coast.
From most rooms and the garden, guests can see an exciting variety of shipping on the Solent inlcuding racing yachts, motor cruisers and cruise ships leaving for foreign shores.
Situated in a fantastic location on the level esplanade, the cottage is just 50 yards from the beach and a short walk to excellent children’s facilities including a play area and paddling pool. Also close by is a popular seafront café serving home made cakes, cooked meals, snacks and ice creams.
Families enjoy fishing or crabbing off the sea wall or just watching the bird life and spectacular sunsets from the garden which has a patio and picnic furniture.
The recently renovated two bedroomed Victorian cottage sleeps four with a king bed and ensuite cloakroom in one bedroom and two adult size singles in the other.
The welcoming coastal theme compliments the heritage and character of the property which has many original features. Ideal for families and couples, there is off road parking for two vehicles. The owners pride themselves on offering a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance and can be contacted direct via mobile.
Coastguard cottage is one of a row built in 1874 and designed by Prince Albert to house 14 coastguards and their families. The detached commanding officer's house is at one end and the boathouse and watchhouse at the other. The original washhouse, water pump and drying area still exists. During World War II an anti aircraft gun was installed in front of the cottages to protect the town's aircraft and shipbuilding industry.
It is only minutes away from a main car ferry terminal and a quality supermarket.
