About

Ventnor Golf Club is the oldest club on the Isle of Wight and was founded in 1892.  The course is in a very pleasant downland, cliff top setting, with probably the best views on the Island. Set on Rew Down, above Ventnor, providing panoramic vistas over the surrounding country side, to the mainland and English Channel.

Designed by the legendary course architect, Tom Dunn, it is unusual in that it is a twelve hole course, with six of the twelve holes being played twice.  Alternative tee boxes on two of the holes providing a marked variation to the way the holes are played. The overall length is approximately 5,700 yards, SSS 68 Par 70. The greens have to be seen in the low winter or summer evening sunlight, to appreciate their subtle contours.  With four par 3s, twelve par 4s and two par 5s, there is something to suit everyone whether or not you are long off the tee.  Enjoyable and challenging to both low and high handicappers.

The course is open from 7am until dusk.  When competitions are taking place, on Sundays, Tuesdays and some Thursdays, the course will generally will be closed until mid-morning.  

As we are a Volunteer run club, the phone is not always manned, so please email us at secretary@ventnorgolfclub.co.uk.  If you wish to play, other than Tuesday or Sunday mornings, then please simply come to the club, put your green fee in the "Honesty Box" and enjoy the course and the views.  We are an exceptionally friendly little club and visitors are always made very welcome.
