Visit our working studio at Chessell Pottery Barns where you can have a go at painting your own hand made English pottery. You don’t have to be an artist either, we have our own unique range of decorating sponges that are very easy to use and produce fantastic results - designs include a seaside range, dinosaurs, flowers, hearts, stars and farm animals to name a few! You’ll be amazed how professional your finished item looks. Once fired, items are usually ready to collect within the week, posted on to you (postage applies) or delivered free to our London studios.

* Green Island Award Winner * Best Cream Tea in the Wight Good Food Guide 2009/10, 2010/11 and 2011/12 * Call for details of themed activities each school holiday. No entrance fee * Family friendly café * Baby changing & high chairs * Disabled access *

Studio fee £5.50 per person (not per item) – covers all materials, assistance in the studio, our whole range of decorating sponges, plus glazing and firing. Pottery items to decorate from £5.95.

Whilst at the pottery, why not take the opportunity to sample the ‘Ultimate Island Cream Tea’ in our Courtyard Café which serves espresso coffee, lovely pots of tea, light lunches and a fabulous range of cakes and treats. Then take a moment to browse our beautiful Gift Barn which stocks the largest range of Emma Bridgewater pottery on the Island, as well as our own Chessell Ware, a range of traditional, Fair Trade and wooden toys, cards, gifts and local artists’ work.

OPEN:
Open daily from 24th March to end of October 9.30-5.30 (closed Mondays in term time).
- OPEN EVERY WEEKEND IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER AT THE POTTERY - there will be fairy lights, big Christmas tree, a cosy warm log fire to sit by, mulled wine and hot Island roast pork rolls served from the award winning cafe - plus pottery gifts to decorate yourself in the studio, and a Gift Barn full to the brim with beautiful Christmas stock.
